New font, eh? OK, let's try this out, and it looks like I'm going to be the first one to leave a comment! Things seem to be rolling along rather smoothly here. Looks like Village Fair II will be a force to be reckoned with -- I reckon.
Thanks for starting the ball rolling Colin.... and from one so painfully shy too:) There has been arithmetic growth since the beggining - this has now gone into logarithmic growth. AND so much generosity with time and equipment from so many. Just an idea who's time has come, I guess
And thanks Colin for coming out to rock our world with Sparkling Apple!
There was a documentary film made of the original Village Faire. I know it exists because I have watched it. If anyone has any information such as, who made it, what is the title, or where it may be found, please contact Village Faire II organizers, or post a comment on this blog. Thanks!
Phil says there are 20 minutes or so in the CBC archives. We might try to make a composite disk of all we can find. Including the minor references like out of the Burner Boys e-biography. Newspaper reporters have access to thier own archives maybe we can pry a little out of any interested reporters without having to pay for archival research.
Wow, I love the new look of the website! MUCH improved, and of course the easier it is to read, all the better for these aging senior-type eyes.
Thanks Colin, any tips is much appreciated...I am a complete newbie at this! It's driving me to drink (more) sometimes!
Thanks for rearranging our bio & video -- and I love the invitation to "rock your arses off"! Brilliant!
As sad as the in memoriam list is, it keeps these folks more alive in our hearts. There are many on the list who I was hoping that I would see again, I'm sad this won't be possible in this life. It does bring back fond memories of time spent with them. Thank you for this!
Hi everyone. i am so looking forward to seeing everyone. Jackie can you please email me . is there anything happening on the friday night
You're welcome Donn. It is really sad to see so many of us gone. And Donna, welcome aboard! Nothing happening on the Friday night except a couple of organizers knocking back a few to calm our nerves on the eve of this event! Look forward to seeing you too.
hi Jackie. please add Paul Hawbolt to the list of those that have left us.
Some of us will be fanagling around trying to put up the stage on Fri as well as moving in bins, potties etc. We'd love anyone who has time to come for a visit before it really starts rocking on Saturday.
looking forward to seeing lots of old friends, coming down from gibsons and staying the weekend, should be a blast, take care and see you in august.
Looking forward to seeing you too Alfie! Folks have been asking of you...are you on facebook?
Hi Jackie, no i am not on facebook, not much of a computer person, they give me a headache at times, the folks that have been asking of me should blog on this site or give me a phone call, in the phone book and live in gibsons, lovely sunshine coast, sounds like this fair is going to be great, i will come down on the friday and give you guys a hand, take care
Hi Alfie...you rock! We're going to need many hands. Paul Hood also lives in Gibsons and on our musicians committee. Maybe you could touch bases with him to keep up to date on where we stand. It is the musicians and taking care of them that is going to be the big feat of the weekend! Cheers! Jackie
Hi Jackie please add Paul Hawbolt to the end list. Does anyone know where Bruce Simmons is.?
Hi Jackie. thanks for adding Paul . let me know when there is a meeting
What a brilliant idea this Village Faire 11 thing is a bit of a long way from Australia but who knows ,sure brings back some great memories! Oh yeah Jackie maybe you could say hi to Doreen for me didn;t get a chance to see her when i was back in Sept. 2011 Best Regards to all you Deep Covers you will all forever live in my memory!
Nice to hear from you. I will pass on your greetings to Doreen! Australia is a long ways to be sure! Aileen is in Christchurch, New Zealand. We have a few people coming in from the 4 corners of the world. Hope all is well with you, if you don't make it, you'll be there with us in spirit! xJ
Hey, Mike. Time to cash in that hoard of frequent flyer points. Lots of people here who would love to see you at the Faire. Even if you find you can't make it, we will all be remembering and saluting the rest of our Deep Cove 'Family'.
Hey Malcolm et al: I can help set up on the Friday night. We can all pray for nice weather....I have access to a pick-up truck.
jackie when are you getting started on friday , just wondering so i can get the ferry down and come and help, looking forward to seeing everybody, it is going to be a blast, take care
Hi Alfie...you were spotted golfing over the weekend LOL! Will confirm what time we starting setting up...we have to let the park clear out a bit but I image 6ish. Please make sure to check back with me (I'll forget at this point) as we could really use your help. Thank you. Jackie B.
Hi jackie, i do not play that silly game, it was such a nice day i went for a ride on the harley and went to lunch at northlands with frank loop and chris elliott, got to get out of gibsons once and awhile, and get away from the yard work, take care and see you at the fair
Excellent! I admire all the helpful data you've shared in your articles. I'm looking forward for more helpful articles from you. :)
Hi Jackie and the rest of the crew: so sorry we had to cancel our Saturday nite appearance, I was really looking forward to it. However, Art's medical issues have sidelined him temporarily, and as it happens, his hospital visit is indeed this week. But a promise is a promise, and I WILL be there as Saturday night emcee. See you there!
Great job on the organizing. Can't believe the amount of talent that came out of the Cove in our era (early 70s) and I can't wait to see and hear that talent this weekend. Driving down from Kelowna and Meeting pals Karen Musgrave and Lissa Robertson at Cates on Saturday. We'll be looking for some of you!
Can we make a donation on site this weekend? You might add Monty McLung to the In Memoriam list
Hi Anne!!! Lovely to hear from you! Yes, you can donate on the weekend. Have added Monty to our growing list. Very sad. Look forward to seeing you! xJ
Coming from Nanaimo cant wait to see everyone if we recognize each other, its amazing the bond Deep Covers feel, anyone know where Steve and Sue Stoneson are, Alfie Mannion my grade 4 crush ,should be a blast
Hey Patsy...long time. Steve and Sue are I believe in Chilliwack....
Just a reminder to everyone that parking is going to be a problem. Please bike, walk, carpool, taxi. Additional parking at Myrtle Park and Little Cates. Thanks everyone.
Please remember to photocopy your old pictures and put them up on our photo board. If you want to stick a message for someone on there, you can do that too. Remember to take lots of pictures and post them up after the event! Thank you.
good to here you are coming patsy, i wish my brother ted could come but he lives in the philippines and will not be able to make it, we should all wear name tags cause i do not know if i will recognize everybody, take care and see you at the fair
Jackie, see you at cates around 6
Dave Jenneson of the Burner Boys has left us as well... I know he would have loved this as we have great memories of the Cove... Rod Dirk and Pete Sinclair were members of the Burner Boys as well... Pete is still alive and well in East Van (as am I!)

A great big thank you to all the people that organized this fair, i had a great time and saw lots of old friends, it must have been a lot of work and as i said thank you very much, maybe it can be done again some time
