New font, eh? OK, let's try this out, and it looks like I'm going to be the first one to leave a comment! Things seem to be rolling along rather smoothly here. Looks like Village Fair II will be a force to be reckoned with -- I reckon.

Thanks for starting the ball rolling Colin.... and from one so painfully shy too:) There has been arithmetic growth since the beggining - this has now gone into logarithmic growth. AND so much generosity with time and equipment from so many. Just an idea who's time has come, I guess

Hi all,

There was a documentary film made of the original Village Faire. I know it exists because I have watched it. If anyone has any information such as, who made it, what is the title, or where it may be found, please contact Village Faire II organizers, or post a comment on this blog. Thanks!

Phil says there are 20 minutes or so in the CBC archives. We might try to make a composite disk of all we can find. Including the minor references like out of the Burner Boys e-biography. Newspaper reporters have access to thier own archives maybe we can pry a little out of any interested reporters without having to pay for archival research.

Wow, I love the new look of the website! MUCH improved, and of course the easier it is to read, all the better for these aging senior-type eyes.

As sad as the in memoriam list is, it keeps these folks more alive in our hearts. There are many on the list who I was hoping that I would see again, I'm sad this won't be possible in this life. It does bring back fond memories of time spent with them. Thank you for this!

You're welcome Donn. It is really sad to see so many of us gone. And Donna, welcome aboard! Nothing happening on the Friday night except a couple of organizers knocking back a few to calm our nerves on the eve of this event! Look forward to seeing you too.

Some of us will be fanagling around trying to put up the stage on Fri as well as moving in bins, potties etc. We'd love anyone who has time to come for a visit before it really starts rocking on Saturday.

Hi Alfie...you rock! We're going to need many hands. Paul Hood also lives in Gibsons and on our musicians committee. Maybe you could touch bases with him to keep up to date on where we stand. It is the musicians and taking care of them that is going to be the big feat of the weekend! Cheers! Jackie

Hey, Mike. Time to cash in that hoard of frequent flyer points. Lots of people here who would love to see you at the Faire. Even if you find you can't make it, we will all be remembering and saluting the rest of our Deep Cove 'Family'.

Hi Jackie and the rest of the crew: so sorry we had to cancel our Saturday nite appearance, I was really looking forward to it. However, Art's medical issues have sidelined him temporarily, and as it happens, his hospital visit is indeed this week. But a promise is a promise, and I WILL be there as Saturday night emcee. See you there!

Great job on the organizing. Can't believe the amount of talent that came out of the Cove in our era (early 70s) and I can't wait to see and hear that talent this weekend. Driving down from Kelowna and Meeting pals Karen Musgrave and Lissa Robertson at Cates on Saturday. We'll be looking for some of you!

Dave Jenneson of the Burner Boys has left us as well... I know he would have loved this as we have great memories of the Cove... Rod Dirk and Pete Sinclair were members of the Burner Boys as well... Pete is still alive and well in East Van (as am I!)
